This is a 1958 Pontiac Safari Wagon. It was purchased from Arizona by my friend Ted. He wanted me to restore it to be like the Pontiac that he grew up with. Apparently, with a little help from my friends Mike, Mike, Mike, and I did a decent enough job that this car was a featured cover story in "Smoke Signals" - a National Pontiac Publication.

I brought it into my garage and began. |
Some people ask, "Did you do a frame off restoration?" This is pretty close to it. Everything came off of the chassis, but the main body, then restored,one piece at a time (so not to lose parts and so everything could go back the way it came from the factory.) |

Everything on the bottom side was undercoated. |
As the undercoating was stripped away, you can see the factory red oxide primer. |

The rest of the bottom of the car was stripped |
and Red oxide was reapplied as the stock vehicle had when new. |

The crazy thing about this clean, strait underside is that the owner wants to cover it all back up with black undercoating. |
